1. Our Service

Our application (the "Service") helps you shop for groceries by integrating with the Kroger API to browse products and the Open Food Facts API to provide health scores. The Service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. This means we do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We are an independent application and do not have an affiliation, partnership, or endorsement from Kroger or Open Food Facts.

2. Third-Party Services and Data

Our Service relies on third-party services, and your use of our app is also subject to their respective terms and conditions.

  • Kroger: All shopping, transactions, pricing, order fulfillment, and product information are handled by Kroger through their API. We are not a party to any transaction you make with Kroger and are not responsible for the accuracy of their product data, pricing, or the fulfillment of your orders.
  • Open Food Facts: The health and nutritional data, including health scores, are provided by the Open Food Facts API. We do not create, verify, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this information.

3. Health & Nutrition Disclaimer

The health scores and nutritional information provided through the Service are for informational purposes only and are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or another qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition or dietary needs. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read on this application. Reliance on any information provided by this application is solely at your own risk.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to misuse the Service. For example, you must not attempt to interfere with the proper working of the Service, access our systems using a method other than the interface and instructions that we provide, or attempt to circumvent any access or use restrictions.

  • Kroger Account Credentials: To connect to the Kroger service, you will provide your Kroger login details. This information is passed securely to Kroger for authentication and is not stored on our servers.

Information Generated and Stored by the App:

  • Order History and Saved Items: We store information about the items you save and the order histories you create within our application. This information is generated through your use of the Service and relies on product data provided by the Kroger API.

Information from Third Parties:

  • Open Food Facts Data: We retrieve nutritional information and health scores from the Open Food Facts API based on the products you view or add to your list.

Automatically Collected Information (Usage Data):

  • We may collect anonymous data about your interactions with the Service, such as features used and crash reports. This data is used to improve the stability and functionality of our app.

Analytics Data:

  • Our website (thelorapp.com) uses Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors engage with the site. Google Analytics uses "cookies," which are small text files placed on your computer, to collect standard internet log information and visitor behavior information in an anonymous form. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) is transmitted to Google. This information is then used to evaluate visitors' use of the website and to compile statistical reports on website activity.
  • We do not use this analytics tool to track or to collect any personally identifiable information. We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • With Kroger: We share information as necessary to facilitate your shopping experience through their API.
  • With Open Food Facts: We share product identifiers (like UPC codes) to retrieve health and nutritional data. We do not share your personal account information with Open Food Facts.
  • For Legal Reasons: We may share information if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect the safety of any person, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.

4. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect the information we handle. However, no electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information only for as long as is necessary to provide the Service and for the purposes set out in this policy. Anonymous usage data may be retained for longer periods for statistical purposes.
